Backlinking - Are You Doing It The Right Way?

I'm going to give you a reason why you should always do your backlink the right way. Those who choose to use black hat strategies for backlinking is going to get into trouble and that is something that your business cannot afford to have happen. Now, obtaining black hat services is not illegal but getting involved with them you then run the risk of Google's wrath and don't think it's just the small businesses either.

Don't think that the "big guys" are immune to this. I'm not sure if you heard yet or not but J. C. Penny was slapped by Google for doing some black hat backlinking. If you typed in such words like dresses, bedding, area rugs, area rug, home decor, skinny jeans, furniture, comforter sites and many other words J. C. Penny would be the number one website in Google.

You must be very leery when you are outsourcing your backlinking projects. You should have your outsourcer give you all the links that they have made for you and search each one to be sure they are on websites that have a high page rank and that the anchor text is your main keyword. The backlinks should be one way and that is only pointing at your website and not having a link from their site on your site. If you can get backlinks on high page ranking websites that point to just you and not back and forth they stand up higher with the search engines.

You should never join a link farm as this is considered black hat. This is where there is a website page that is full of links and nothing else. The websites that are hosting your backlinks need to be content heavy and be in the same niche as you. It doesn't have to be the same niche, but the backlink will carry more weight if the website hosting your link is in the same niche or very close to yours as possible.

If you are unsure of who to hire for the outsourcing of your backlinks, then ask around in the Internet marketing forums about who they use or if they could let you know how to find someone that would do a good job and use white hat strategies. Many people on these forums even offer their services for things like this and you may be able to hire one of them.

As long as you are doing things the right way, you don't need to worry about Google slapping you, but if you are doing things just a bit shady, then you may want to watch out because one day you could wake up and find yourself on page 100 instead of page 1 and I don't think any company can take a hit like that. I know I can't and I'm sure you can't either especially if you are just starting out.
