Though the Banner Design process is indepth and complex, your roles are simple and painless.
The Ad Hound will work with you to drive as much high quality traffic to your website, but a very important aspect of an effective advertising campaign is to have a low bounce rate. If visitors simply exit the website as soon as they enter, it defeats the purpose of an aggressive strategy. There will always be impulsive "clickers" who will shut down a loading page as soon as they recognize what they have done, but there are others who are definitely drawn to the advertisement who then are not satified with the end result of their destination. Here are a few tips to help reduce bounce rates:
- Make sure you provide The Ad Hound with accurate keywords—The visitors we attract to the site for you need to be instantly reassured that they have clicked on an ad that has led them to a place of their interest. If you provide us with misleading information regarding your product or service, there is a possiblity that an ad will drive some inaccurate traffic. The more accurate the two parties work together, the better the results will be.
- Create easy navigation in your site—You will only be given a split second to satisfy the visitors to your site. If they happen to land on a page where they are not interested, make sure the navigation is structured cleanly, and that the most popular items are easily found. Use banners inside your site to replace simple text links to allow a graphic interface to help guide visitors through your site.
- Use clear, keyword headlines—The first line the visitors might see just may happen to be their last. so make it count. This line is your first impression to convince readers that they should stay on the site. Avoid being funny or clever, and don't get too technical. This is a simple modification and you may need to test multiple lines out to find your best result.
- Fast loading—People on the internet aren't the most patient bunch, if your site is hosted on a weak server and is slow to load you will have a large percentage of traffic give up and leave. Some tricks are to save the images on your page as a lower resolution so that the bandwidth needed to download is reduced.
- Know your audience—The visitors on your site have been persuaded to leave a different site to see your company. Because of this you need to be careful with your first impression. If a reader has gone from reading about their hobby to then enter a website with flashing dollar signs encouraging them to buy some product, it is like a sales rep pounding on your door on a Sunday morning while you are enjoying your breakfast - you don't want it! The Ad Hound will select just a handful of companies based on your demographic in which the advertisements will be projected. With this information you can tweak your landing page to create a subtle way of welcoming this new demographic to your company.
- Don't force anything—If you have pop ups, music, or autoplay videos, turn them off. Similar to the previous tip, the welcome to your site should be warm and inviting, not intrusive and annoying. Videos and music can be a great touch, but let the users choose if and when they fall subject to them.
*Bounce Rate is the percentage of website traffic that leaves the website immediately upon entering.
